Waste collection levy: municipal tax for waste

The amount of waste collection levy you pay depends on your situation.

Costs 2024

• you live alone: € 270,75
• you live with 2 or more people: € 351,98
• additional costs for large residual waste container: € 70
• additional costs for second residual waste container: € 229,46

A 2nd or extra large waste container for paper, PMD and organic waste is free of charge. However, you will be charged a one-time delivery fee of €30 to ACV.

• Are you moving within Wageningen and does the number of people in your family remain the same? Then your amount remains the same.
• Are you moving to another municipality or abroad? If so, your waste collection levy stops at the end of the month in which you move house. Any overpaid amount will be refunded to you, and you don’t need to take any action.
• If there is no waste pass in the new residence, you can request one for free from ACV(Externe link) until 1 year after moving. After that, it costs €15.
• Within 1 year of moving, you can exchange your bin for a different size for free at ACV. After that, exchanging a bin costs €30.

The landlord pays the waste collection levy. The landlord is allowed to pass this amount on to the tenants.
