Reporting lost or found items

Found a passport, identity card or driver’s licence? Then you have to hand it in at the municipality. Driving licences of our residents are returned to the owner. We destroy passports and identity cards immediately. We are obliged to do so by law. Driving licences of non-residents are sent to the RDW. You can contact RDW via (088) 00 87 44 7.  They determine whether you will get your driver’s licence back.

• If you keep the object at home and have reported it on iLost and the (estimated) value is less than € 450, you become the owner after 3 months.
• If the value is more than €450, you become the owner after 1 year.
• This of course only applies if no one claim the object in the meantime.
• Passports, identity cards and driving licences must be submitted to the municipality.
